Which wallet do I need?
To get a certificate you sign one message with a wallet you hold the keys for. Check what's already in this browser, or see where to get one safely.
In this browser right now
Checked on this device only. Nothing is sent to us.
Installed but not listed? Unlock the wallet, check it's switched on in Chrome's extensions, then reload this page. On a phone, Chrome can't run wallet extensions: open verifiedwallet.io in your wallet app's own browser instead (Xverse, MetaMask and Phantom all have one).
Bitcoin in Chrome
Three Bitcoin wallets work as Chrome extensions. Any one is enough.
How to check if you already have one
- Look at the top right of Chrome for the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) and click it.
- Look for Xverse, Leather or UniSat in the list.
- Or type
chrome://extensionsin the address bar to see everything installed.
The box at the top of this page does the same check for you.
Xverse
Tested with VerifiedWalletThe most widely used Bitcoin extension. Gives you a Payment address (for your bitcoin) and an Ordinals address (for Bitcoin NFTs and Runes).
Leather
A Bitcoin wallet from the team behind the Stacks network. Gives you a Native SegWit and a Taproot address.
UniSat
Popular with Ordinals and Runes collectors. Uses one address at a time; switch address inside UniSat first if you have several.
New to it? Setting up takes about five minutes
- Install the wallet from one of the links above, then pin it (puzzle-piece icon, then the pin).
- Open it and choose Create a new wallet, or Restore if you already have a recovery phrase.
- Write the recovery phrase on paper and keep it somewhere safe. Anyone with it can take your bitcoin.
- Come back to Get certified and reload it. Your wallet now shows as a button: connect, pick the address, approve the message.
You don't need any bitcoin in the wallet, and signing costs nothing. Usually you'd certify the address that holds your bitcoin, so people can see that it's yours.
Using a desktop or hardware wallet?
No extension needed. On the start page choose Sign with a Bitcoin wallet by hand: copy the message, sign it in your wallet, paste the signature back. The page checks it straight away.
- Electrum (electrum.org): Tools, then Sign/verify message.
- Sparrow (sparrowwallet.com): Tools, then Sign/Verify Message. Works with a connected Trezor, Ledger, Coldcard or other hardware wallet.
- Bitcoin Core:
signmessageon a legacy (1…) address.
Single-key addresses only: bc1q…, bc1p…, 3… or 1…. Multisig and exchange addresses can't sign a message.
Tron in Chrome
For Tron (T…) addresses, including the ones used for USDT on Tron.
TronLink
TronThe most widely used Tron wallet. It works with a Ledger too: connect the Ledger in TronLink and confirm on the device.
On a phone, open verifiedwallet.io inside the TronLink app's own browser (DApp tab). USDT kept on an exchange can't be certified: the exchange holds those keys.
EVM and Solana in Chrome
MetaMask
EVMRabby
EVMPhantom
Solana and EVMSolflare
SolanaNo EVM wallet at all? The start page can make one for you with just your email.
Stay safe
- Only install a wallet from the links on this page or the wallet's own website. Fake wallet extensions are a common scam: check the publisher and the number of users in the Chrome Web Store.
- Never type your recovery phrase into a website. VerifiedWallet will never ask for it, and no real service needs it.
- Signing our message is free and can't move funds. Still, always read what a wallet asks you to approve.
